Dengue and Transformity

The paper, from the 2012 Emergy Synthesis Conference in Gainesville, Florida, covers advanced eigenvalue methods for Odum's transformity. It compares the emergy of environmental control of dengue to prevent outbreaks vs. the emergy of healthcare workers in treating an outbreak. (Dengue is a debilitating, tropical virus spread by mosquitoes.)

Thanks for any comments, as with other papers.

2012 Election and 2008 Economic Crisis

Welcome,

My name is Dennis G. Collins. I recieved a Ph.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1975, and taught mathematical sciences at The University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez for over 27 years.

This blog will explore how history is dominated by one pattern, over different scales; how symmetry is calculated based on counting the number of pairs of equal distances; and how social-science extends from Josiah Willard Gibbs' thermodynamic models.  A list of study problems of The Quantum History Institute is given on pp.111-113 of my book Conflict in History, Measuring Symmetry, Thermodynamic Modeling and Other Work (2011)..

Below are two recent studies, copyright applied for:

2012 Election Study   (perhaps more PMA Positive Mental Attittude needed)

Thermodynamic Modeling of 2008 Economic Crisis (3) on list of study problems, p.111 book

Some corrections to my book:
